I guess I took my Lindsey icon off my list so I'll settle for the World F****ng Champs who are now 4 games ahead in the NL East after taking 2 out of 3 from the Mutts. Boo yeah. Hate the Mets. And David Wright, what a toolbag. Seriously. Getting caught twice trying to get to 2nd by Ibanez's throw from the outfield, what a moron!
Just a few things:
Happy Ticket died. This really upset me. I loved that mare. I'll never forget her Azeri against Round Pond. She apparently had some foaling complications and it was a rare thing. It's very sad.
I am done with my first term of classes..woo! I still have a final, quiz and a paper to do, but no more classes. It's perfect since next Thursday our company has a luxury box at Trenton Thunder and I'm going after work. Should be fun.
he outrage over the Holocaust shooting has done nothing but divided the left from the right again. And it pisses me off. There's so much hate and you have the leftists and rightests pointing the fingers at each other. Hey, here's a thought. How about we point the finger at this von Brunn asshole? There's a thought. On the left, we have people blaming Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck for creating this atmosphere. On the right we have people like Rush Limbaugh saying this guy hated Bush, McCain, the GOP and he was a left wing radical. WHO THE FUCK CARES?? He was an extremist and he MURDERED somebody. What difference does it make what side he was on? I don't think these people even HAVE a side. They hate everybody, left, right, black, white, jew, non jew. Even some FBI agent who went undercover in the KKK said that there's no real idealogy. But I don't buy the argument that people like Bill O and the like are responsible. I mean, if Bill O was at a KKK rally or something, sure, but I don't see it. Same goes for the leftists. One thing that did upset me was the NYT piece today by one of the liberal writers who mentioned Dr. Tiller's murder but neglected to mention the Army recruiters who were killed by the Muslim converts who did it because they were against the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. I mean, that's a terrorist act too and yet, that has seemed to get almost no attention. Like the vast liberal media apparently puts more stock in the killing of an abortion doctor and the killing of a member of our armed services. Which to me, is just as bad. Terrorism is terrorism, plain and simple.
I've dealt with anti semitism my entire life. Before I was born, when my parents were living in Glassboro, one of the neighbors called them "Dirty jews" to their faces. One summer at our house now, somebody took red spray paint and painted "F***k off Jews on our garage" and painted red swastikas on the driveway. My freshman year of h.s., in gym class one day, this girl told me her uncle was a Nazi guard. Then later on in the locker room, her friend handed me a note from her. I opened it up and she had drawn a huge black swastika on it and wrote "Whte Power" at the bottom. I got her suspended for it. One day, she was following me after class but I didn't see her. My bff at the time, Jenn, did see her and came up next to me and walked with me to my locker and said "Brooke, Donna's behind you. I didn't want her to come up and start with you so just keep walking". I was scared. A year or two later, the girl ran into Jenn in the bathroom and told her "Could you tell Brooke I'm really sorry about what happened, I was messed up for a while" but she never actually apologized to me, personally. I had a classmate tell me he hated Jews but had nothing against me (wtf?) and when I walked into class one day, he did the "Heil Hitler" hand gesture as I walked in. Real nice. I had kids in h.s. ask me where my horns were, because we killed Jesus. And even peopel say "I'm German but I hope you don't hate me" Seriously? I have never dealt with it as I've gotten older but I don't flaut my faith or anything. I used to wear a Star of David around my neck, but stopped once I got into the professional working world. I didn't feel it was appropriate and felt I might have a problem. So when something like what happened on Tuesday happens, it shakes me up and really saddens me. Because it just is a sad reminder of the hate that still exists today. I don't understand how somebody can have so much hate in their heart to begin with, but at 89 years old? How do you live carrying that all your life? I just don't understand it. At all. *sigh*
Last weekend we were watching George Carlin and he was talking about "Soybean futures" I was sitting on the floor and I looked at Soy and said "Soybean futures?" and dad goes "Soybean doesn't have much of a future left" It was funny and not at the same time..lol. Poor Soy. My friends on Sunday couldn't believe it when I told them she was still around.
Anyway, have a great weekend all. Tim's going to the McGovern fundraiser tonight. I am so dearly hoping he doesn't embarrass me. But I am very jealous.
